IRC Filesharing

Filesharing

Since some time, you can use your mIRC client for more than chat. Use mIRC to share files or simply, to download mIRC files and respectively upload them.

This operation is particularly suitable for offering support updates. "google" for a XDCC Bot, and fill it with information. (How to do, you see in the bot instructions)

Here are the Steps of capital importance:

Firstly activate an operation for automatic acceptance of DCC transmitted packets in mIRC.

Go to View/Options/DCC/Ignore, set "method" to disable and replace the check mark at "Turn ignore back on in", in order that this adjustment will persist.

On a page like: ircspy, you can find out in which Channel and network the Bot is located in, who is in possession of the packet with the information you need.

Join the Channel, the bot was located in, and enter the following command:

/msg Bot xdcc send #packetnumber

cartainly, you must address the Bot with his name and the corresponding packetnumber. ( "google" for the packetnumber, too )

Now you're in queue and sooner or later it's your turn ;-)

If you want to cancel the ordered packet for any reason, do it with following command:

/msg Bot xdcc remove

Look for the Topic of the Channels with the Bots, there you can find useful information about handling Bots.
